This year’s Leadership Institute workshop is open to all conference attendees. All incoming, standing, and outgoing leaders of ARLIS/NA constituent groups are encouraged to participate if they are attending the conference.
The workshop will be facilitated by
Mia Henry, Founder and CEO of
Freedom Lifted. Mia is an educator, facilitator, and strategist committed to helping leaders and groups advance justice through shared leadership. She specializes in working with
libraries.
Rooted in the legacy of the Black Freedom Struggle and raised in the Deep South, Mia brings decades of experience in movement education, organizational leadership, and equity-centered facilitation. She has led youth and adult programs as a teacher and director at organizations including Mikva Challenge, the Chicago Freedom School, and the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership.
